Jan 6, 2016 Used QM references for a few tracks on IYRTITL which he was credited for, so ghostwriter isn't really accurate. But yes, there were some words on some songs that Drake didn't pen. We'll never get the 100% truth behind how those reference tracks were created though.
Jan 6, 2016 Crew Love was The Weeknd's song, but he didn't write Drake's verse. He's got background vocals on Cameras, Practice, and The Ride and is credited on all 3, but like I said earlier, hard to know exactly who wrote what. Weeknd's contributions were similar to Kanye & Cudi's contributions to The Blueprint & 808s.
Jan 6, 2016 Abel is credited on 5 songs on TC. Crew Love - A Weeknd song Drake took and added a verse to. The Ride - If you've ever listened to The Ride it's easy to see what Abel contributed there, basically background vocals (that sound great btw) Practice - Abel says he wrote the hook for this, and is the only song he actually wrote for Drake on TC. The other 2 are Shot For Me & Cameras/Good Ones Go. He hasn't spoken on exactly what he worked on with those 2, I'm guessing he helped with the hook on Shot For Me, and he has some background vocals in the transition of Cameras/Good Ones Go. That whole OVOXO movement was great. Here's something The Weeknd said about it in an interview 2 years ago: He really wanted to incorporate my sound, which was inspired by his sound. It’s not like, “Oh, I had the ‘new sound.’” It was just easier for him to relate to me, because it was his sound with an edge. It was that Toronto sound. So yeah, you’re right. I feel like I could have been that for his album. (refering to how Kanye helped Hov on TBP, and how Cudi helped Ye on 808s.)
