I may not share your taste in music and vice versa but i like u as a poster @Spatula same way i like swizz as a poster even though we don't like the same artists.

Now i feel u can have a good debate so i would like to debate with u regarding Eminem

Now u like hardcore Eminem music, lyrical, close to horrorcore but u do appreciate emotional melodic songs too i saw u say in another thread Say Goodbye To Hollywood is 1 of his best songs ever. U also said Eminem is at his best when he makes songs with a deep message but it's not something that should be expected from him all the time

But how come u don't look at it like the pop melodic emotional music he makes u may not particularly like that but it gives Eminem the all round dimension he has makes him the versatile artist he is and it makes him the superstar he is.

Well there's not much of a debate here. I like his emotional, serious, melodic songs, but they're an exception. They're like "OK, let's get serious for a minute, then we'll get back to regular stuff". You're disappointed when a song isn't serious or melodic with singing hooks, but they're not the norm for Eminem. They stand out in every album, except maybe on The Eminem Show.

I like all sides to Eminem, goofy, serious, serial killery, he's very well rounded.

Now I feel important.

Now i think u have been mistaken here i'm not saying u very wrong i will admit i get disappointed. But the reason i saved my pocket money as a young kid and purchased the Slim Shady LP was because i heard My Name Is on the radio i loved it the song stayed stuck in my head so on the strength of that song i decided to buy the album

We know My Name Is not emotional, not deep melodic u can say yes there is melody within the hook but it's an animated song not emotional. To this day i love the song as i do The Real Slim Shady

Well i mean there is let me make some points quickly though

The emotional songs are the norm on Recovery too not just The Eminem Show. And on Encore half the album is emotional songs

The other albums as well as soundtracks have the emotional songs scattered so because he has so many emotional songs with singing on the hook or whatever i listed them in another thread and counted them to be over a 100 u can't say that isn't the norm. U can say album wise he only has 2 mainly emotional albums the rest scattered

The artist himself said this he said Eminem is his deep, serious, personal side the real him, life issues, life struggles

Slim Shady is his alter ego that raps about crazy things

He said this i mean he shouldn't have to it is obvious but he wrote this in his autobiography

I think I got it. You're trying to say Eminem does do serious melodic songs a lot, and it's not as rare as I say. I didn't count, but the overall feeling I have from Eminem's music is that he's mostly joking around.
