Jan 20, 2016 To p---- a Butterfly is probably one of the best conceptual albums i heard in a long time, and it has great music pieces all over the album like WT and Institutionalized ... i feel the ridiculous praise it received made the casual fans flip on it, its very hard to resist not to i usually flip on it every now and then just outta pure hatred when i see how much praise it gets..then i re-listen..and realize its actually a great CD now, i must ask the fans of Kenny who adore this CD, to please calm down...calling this the best CD of all time is laughable..calling this the best CD of the decade is laughable....pls help the CD by being humble @KendrickSXN
Jan 20, 2016 As a whole, it's the best thing released in years But as far as individual songs? For a majority of the tracks, it's not something I would go out of my way to listen to
Jan 20, 2016 but thats how concept songs usually go...once you listen..and relisten..and relisten...you usually done with concept songs...bad guy is the best mmlp2 song, but its my least played one
Jan 20, 2016 For anyone who's interested in tpab's whole concept explained in one song - Minus the corny tupac s---
Jan 20, 2016 Yah ppl forgetting its conceptual...Notice all the untitled freestyles hes been droppin...Dope album
Jan 20, 2016 heard it not so long ago and tbh, I feel like its one of the best things I have ever heard. Tbh I don't see whats wrong with people calling it the best album of the decade when they give legit arguments as to why its one of the best albums. You cant be mad at that.
Jan 20, 2016 Like Musically, I think it really is the best thing I have heard these past 10 years, and I used to hate Kendrick In fact, I still hate his previous work prior to tpab
Jan 20, 2016 It's weird how much i despise kendrick now (mostly due to his fanbase) cause when I first listened to Section.80 I thought it was great and I still enjoy some of the songs like Ronald Reagan Era. When GKMC came out I could not get through it at all. The songs just bored me and felt so different from S80. Then he realized TPAB, an album with such a pretencious title and the praise it got was so obnoxious and lacking of self awareness that I want nothing to do with his music now.
Jan 20, 2016 I think the reason why it was overpraised (and yes it was), was because no one thought he could top the greatness of GKMC, and he did. Now, I'm not gonna argue over which album was better, because I adore both of them, and its like choosing with a parent and their child. However, this album was not perfect, and did suffer in replay value. But Kendrick never set out to create a GKMC2, he wanted to make an album for his parents generation, not the kids from today. The only songs that we could b--- to being "Alright" & "Hood Politics". but the best thing about this album...is that its so much more then that. We NEEDED something different, even if it was a turn off.
Jan 20, 2016 Soz but you can't ask m not to praise it as one of the best albums of all time when I haven't heard a lot of better albums in my life. Maybe thats because I'm a musician and I'm hearing things that most casual listeners can't hear... duno
