Cohen entered a plea deal & testified under oath that he coordinated to commit campaign finance laws at the direct of Trump. Lying under oath in federal court doesn’t benefit him at all. He’s getting a much shorter prison sentence because of his plea deal. If he lied in court, that just puts him at risk for more prison time, could even put his plea deal in jeopardy.
