Aug 26, 2018 "I want to talk to you right now about a fundamental threat to American democracy [...] The threat is nearly invisible in ordinary ways. It is a crisis of confidence. It is a crisis that strikes at the very heart and soul and spirit of our national will. We can see this crisis in the growing doubt about the meaning of our own lives and in the loss of a unity of purpose for our nation..." I was wondering what American people nowadays thought of this speech. Was it a 70s-80s thing? Do you think it's relevant to present society ?
Aug 26, 2018 yeah the biggest threat isn't anyone, its us the people . In a nutshell I think he is saying people are loosing their spirit and in turn going crazy. Everyone is divided now and thre is no unity. This speech is extremely relevant today imo. Do you have the full speech?
Aug 26, 2018 Carter was a great President who got f----- over by the Federal Reserve and OPEC. He called our dependence on foreign oil a "clear and present danger" He put solar panels on the White House because he thought all Americans should be energy efficient... then he lost to a Hollywood Actor who made deals with Iran before and after he was President and took off the solar panels.
Aug 26, 2018 I think what he's trying to say is that people with different political views than you are your enemy and inherently evil and should die.
