I'm not religious although I do believe in 'God' as a concept more than an entity. I was raised semi-christian, we never really went to church or anything but I was taught about God, Satan, Heaven and h--- etc. I recognize Religion mostly as a way to control others but I do believe it has its pros. What about you?

no, not only do i not believe in god, but religion took the idea of god that is somehow harmless by itslef and even had it upsides and turned it to a petty, manipulative, harmful concept, used to control people, justifying terrible acts throughout history (as well as now like racism or sexim) not to mention truned the idea of a god to something that sounds like a petty human rather than something that's above everything (imagine the creator of the universe caring about who you f--- and when you do it...)

Life is going so fast right now I don't have time to fully realize if I'm religious or not. Also I don't know if I believe in God in any form or not. As for now I think I'm pretty skeptical about whole concept of God, but you never know.

I was raised secular. I do believe that it can't hurt to believe in a god though almost in a why not sort of way. Like what are you losing by believing a god exists? I got into religion for a little while but it started changing the way I think in ways I didn't enjoy or see logically beneficial. I live in Minnesota and there's literally a church for every Mcdonalds here and the people here tend to shove it down your throat so i'm honestly sick of it tbh. I think that if you're in a dark place or need guidance as an individual it offers some wisdom in how you value yourself and how you treat other but do devote your life to a set of values that tend to contradict each other the further you get into it just doesn't seem to make much sense if you ask me. On top of that i'm an all or nothing type a guy. If I were to get into religion I would be a full blown bible thumper and I just don't see myself enjoying that at this stage in my life.

meh, really how i was raised.

It's just an idea. I might believe we'll go to the gates of heaven. You might believe we just die. Sally might believe we all get reincarnated into animals or other beings but all of them have the same result..

    We all die :)

Yeah thats how I was for a long time, I'm not saying you should go out and protest gays because you're a christian but what you said is how I view most christians, its ingrained. When there's a church on every block it kinda becomes the norm and stepping out of it is the scariest part because you're taught to fear god.

Kinda cliché.. but why would god let so many s-----y things happen? If he truly has control over everything.

I kinda believe there is something out there, but what/who? There are so many religions and in the end.. if one of them is actually true, it means the majority of the population is wrong.

Religion does cause a lot of problems but without it, who says the problems wouldn't be here anyways?

The cliché answer is "god does everything for a reason". The reason you're mother died of obesity is to show you that you need to live healthy. The reason you couldn't find your car keys is because you'll be in an accident in the future. I ask myself this question multiple times. Will i ever find a successful job? Find true love? Get out of the area i'm in? Why do i still have to fix the broken light switches and water pumps? Life throws you so much issues and many people reject that fact god has something better in store for you.

Well most religions worship the same "god" just in different circumstances.

Religion is one of the biggest factors in warfare across the world.

oh yeah, it does but i feel majority of them are like that. A clear example is jews "israel is our land so arabs cant live here"
"It is the law to k--- anyone who denies the Torah. The Christians belong to the denying ones of the Torah."

"If a Jew has a non-Jewish servant or maid who dies, one should not express sympathy to the Jew. You should tell the Jew: "God will replace 'your loss', just as if one of his oxen or a----s had died"."

    - Jore dea 377, 1

"Although the non-Jew has the same body structure as the Jew, they compare with the Jew like a monkey to a human."

    - Schene luchoth haberith, p. 250 b
