Dec 22, 2017 It's no secret that Revival isn't getting the best publicity right now among fans and critics. Many people call Revival Eminem's worst album. An album that people have been waiting for since The Marshall Mathers LP2 dropped back in 2013. Eminem has spoke a lot recently about his frustration with Hip-Hop and the fact that he still has the same passion as he did when he first started...but the rage is gone, the rage that spawned classic songs like The Way I Am. Well similar to when Relapse first dropped in 2009, Revival isn't getting great reviews with some people wondering if Eminem still has the talent or if people just don't care anymore. Given the fact that Revival did 265k album sales, the drop is huge from MMLP2 which did just under 800k in it's first week. After Relapse was negatively reviewed, he came with Recovery a year later to try and redeem himself with some huge singles like Not Afraid and Love The Way You Lie. Did it work? For the most part. Recovery still holds some classic and memorable Eminem songs. With Revival being out for a whole week now, will Eminem need to come out with something quick in 2018 to redeem himself again to show people he still has it and that he has that hunger to be the best or does he need to take a few years out again and go back to the drawing board?
Dec 22, 2017 The reason Em was so good back in the day was because his delivery/flow/aggression was real, effortless, and something you can't mimic. Rarely do u ever see s--- like that. Once it's gone, it's gone. He can't keep the same style up forever.
Dec 22, 2017 Borderline TES quality. I've said this before , but he needs to spend a solid 18-24 months producing his own album end to end with as little outsourced hooks as possible. He is fully capable of sounding like what we want he just needs to produce himself.
Dec 22, 2017 There’s three absolute classics on this album. But the more I think about it I don’t see why this album took him four years to make. I mean he threw out 69,000 pieces of paper writing this album yet he didn’t crumple up and throw away “your booty is heavy duty like diarrhea”?
Dec 23, 2017 I hope so. He tried to please everyone but that just means you also disappoint everyone by definition. If he stuck to his f---in guns, made Believe type beats and rapped consistently in that mood he would make a classic. It’s so fuxkin obvious, especially cos he seems to agonise over what to do. WHY DID HE GET IT SO WRONG. Christ. His own beats, his own hooks, some rappers. Dre mixing. It’s all there in his hands but he can’t see it. I like this f---ing album but some of the beats are terrible. I kinda like Nowhere Fast but it’s like some s--- Yelawolf Radioactive sickening beat.
Dec 23, 2017 I hope so I think recovery did bad sales-wise was because it didn't have a good lead single choice Recovery had Not afraid which was a hit And then Love the way you lie which was also a hit The MMLP2 had Rap god and The monster which were also pretty big Meanwhile Revival had Walk On Water which flopped and they released the mv late exclusively on Apple Music River would have been a better single choice imo it was #1 on the iTunes Charts for a while and is top 10 on there rn if they released it as a lead with a mv I think it would've given the album more of a boost
Dec 23, 2017 Nowhere to me sounds like your never over, same flow and same poppy beat. I do like that track though
