Jun 10, 2018 A Kid Named Cudi classic/10 MOTM classic/10 MOTM 2 classic/10 Indicud 8/10 Satellite Flight 8/10 SB2H...skip PPDS 8/10 KSG classic/10
Jun 10, 2018 Indicud has some cool tracks but for the most part sucks. Would be much better if someone else produced it. SF is terrible
Jun 10, 2018 idk i had these same opinions until i recently revisited them, i honestly think he was ahead of his time
Jun 10, 2018 I only f--- with Balmain Jeans and I liked TBIHTDY, but now I only spin the leaked one over the Daft Punk beat. On Indicud I f--- with Unfuckwittable, Just What I Am, Lord of the, Cold Blooded, Brothers, Mad Solar, Red Eye (hardly his song), King Wizard, Immortal, Burn Baby Burn. A lot of these would be better with classic Cudi production and the unmentioned ones are all terrible
Jun 10, 2018 I honestly can't think of a non-eminem album that I loved when I was 18 that's aged worse to me as an adult than the man on the moons. You could probably cobble together a p good album between both of them but...
Jun 10, 2018 Cudi's influence is extremely understated, he directly inspired some amazing music and future legends, but his solo music is god awful and it's unfathomable to me how anyone over the age of 18 could listen to it without cringing into infinity.
Jun 10, 2018 What do you not like about MOTM 1? Is it the "I feel like an alien" nature of it? Cause I feel like I remember you saying that at some point. I'm an adult but still feel like an alien tho
Jun 10, 2018 A Kid Named Cudi is his only classic project....and I love a lot of his work. One of my favorite artists who I listened to since 19. Yeah, he's not the greatest lyricist around or technical cadence-focused literary artist. I actually wouldn't describe his signature motif as all that lyric-prioritized. HOWEVER! That first body of work. Just like A$AP Rocky's. Very solid sonic and densely-lyrical bodies of work. I'd hail them as personal classics. Dude could flow above average from 2007 to 2009. And if you're saying he could NEVER spit, hm. Hm.
Jun 10, 2018 Nah, there are undeniable songs on there—day n nite obvs, both the ratatat tracks, simple as, (also, hyyer is actually a song I didn't really like when the album came out but I found myself enjoying it when I put on the album the other day)...but I feel like cudi broods too much in his melodrama for me to take it seriously for a full project like that as an adult, even if he does hit some of the right mood points that feel relatable. Which is why KSG is the perfect dose of him for me.
Jun 10, 2018 I think 2018 kanye and cudi need each other. Kanye to help morph and manage cudi's vision into something palatable, and then also so they both only have to write half an album.
Jun 10, 2018 f--- no. He has 1 classic and 1 great project and 1 decent project, the rest are big sux.
Jun 10, 2018 Definitely, Cudi is only tolerable under Kanye's supervision, and Kanye sounded more energised on KSG than he has been on his last two solo projects
