Roc Marciano and Ka have been consistently holding it down this entire decade
The whole Griselda roster - WG dropped a modern masterpiece in FlyGod, Conway doesn't stop putting out quality mixtapes, Benny dropped one of the best projects of 2018
Mach-Hommy is in a league of his own (ok he's from NJ but close enough)
    Bronsolini still dropping heat (occasionally)
Your Old Droog just dropped his best project so far
Eto has been killing it this year (h---'s Roof is a top 5 project this year)
Billy Woods and Elucid (Armand Hammer) are amongst the absolute best rappers in the game right now

I'm sure I'm forgetting a few names but this entire NY revivalist scene has been on fire the past few years. When was the last time artists from NY were putting out such a high volume of consistently quality material?

d---, we forgetting about the early 10's for New York? Pro Era and A$AP Mob were in their prime. Flatbush doing their thing with Flatbush Zombies & The Underachievers. Flushing repping Bronson, salute, back when he really dropped heat. Coke Boys as well. That was def the strongest new NYC rap has been imo. The West was WAY stronger than the East at that time, probably still is.

@Sav Stanfield would you marry me? You're like the missing piece in my life, that Hip-Hop talk I need. Jeeeeesus. You make me wanna be a better poster and Hip-Hop listener.

But for real, name dropping Eto is >>>>

I'm amazed someone in here listens to him. "Motion Picture EP" is my fav, that "h---'s Roof" project is solid af.

Issa shame these dudes are not as famous as they should be. Hopefully that Shady promotion will bring some more fans for Griselda. Benny became one of my favs recently. Won't lie, I got introduced to him like a year ago, when Shady x Griselda deal come to life, but s---, better late than never.

True there was the whole Pro Era/Beast Coast/A$AP era but they didn't make as big a dent as they could have. But yeah agreed, they were one of NY's most important movements, especially recently. I'm still very interested to hear all the new Beast Coast s--- that ssupposed to be dropping soon. Can't comment on Coke Boyz coz I'm still not that familiar with their s---, so I could be wrong about them. I guess if you take it back to Bigavelli and even before to ByrdGang/Dipset you could call that a peak era too.

Just feels like the guys I mentioned represent a broader, cohesive sound and movement that been steadily gathering momentum for the better part of a decade now and is really starting to gain both critical and commercial success and influence now. I could be wrong but it feels like theres something big happening here.

Eto is insane! Only recently discovered him because of his project with Muggs but he raps like he spent his entire life listening to Mobb Deep and nothing else.

Thats what I'm saying, I feel like this whole movement/sound is really gaining traction now. If anything that Griselda/Shady project is gonna give it an even bigger boost.

Yeah, you could throw in the Gaine Green era, if you want to that is.

If you're gonna be on that topic, why not throw Bishop Nehru in there. He did have that project with DOOM, and Nehruvia is a must listen. Don Q, Your Old Droog, Wiki, Hus Kingpin, Corey Finesse, Dave East, Phresher, Casanova, & Young MA are also some in my eyes, deserves more potential than they get. Q has a lot of potential, just needs more of that A Boogie clout. Dave East doing his thing on Mass Appeal, Droog dropped a project not too long ago, like you said, that also has DOOM on it, Wiki too. M.A. is the most deserving out of all these people. Not commenting on the others, too lazy, lol. Could though, who kmows

I agree with Conway, Eto, Your old droog.

Saw Casanova was mentioned. Him and his crew got ran out of out Barclays by 9tre after one of 69’s guys busted a round. Someone from Casanova’s group should have shot back. b---- move. I think he’s more talk than what he raps about. Casanova took a major L there.

East Coast went mainstream when 69 was out and before gs9 got locked up. 69 should be out of prison in a couple months.

Thats exactly, theres crazy activity right now. NYs got a bad rap these past few years, especially since ATL/Chicago have been dominating so much. But there's a resurgence around the corner

Literally if Max B was free, Stack and Chinx didn't get gunned down, and French didn't hop on so many other waves besides Max's, no one would be touchin' NY right now. And I do mean no one. That boy Stack was gifted. Can't explain it. Must be the fact that he was a Far Rockaway, Queens representor with a flair about him that reminded you of a Harlemite. Add A$AP Yam$ dying and A$AP Rocky devolving as an artist right after his first mixtape surfaced. He hasn't spit like that in literally 8 years, This Halloween. d--- crying a--- shame.

Best post I’ve seen from you. Hope you forgiven me over the kofi s---.

It seems on the East Coast, once a rapper starts blowing up or getting hype, the feds automatically try and build some sort of case. It’s like they don’t want rappers being mainstream, especially in New York. Max B still getting views and is still being talked about online. It was sad seeing Chinx get shot over jealousy out of all things. Especially after the bodies song dropped with Bobby and Rowdy, he was really on the come up. Stack had star potential.

If FBG Duck lived in NYC, and made the slide track there. You’re f---ing right the feds would already have his a--- wrapped in some bs Rico conspiracy case.

Definitely the feds been up on that bs everytime a rapper from NY is on the come up. Max B, Flip, recently 6ix9ine. That Mac Baller case is still sketchy as f---.
