Jul 25, 2017 Quote for those not aware "f--- that last cd the s----s in my trash" -Cinderella man Now that the dust has settled where do u stand on the whole relapse debate ? Honestly it's got some good production and is the last true sounding Eminem because it's the last time he actually put the effort into the skits and the real story of the record. Sadly he became too lazy after doing it for this record and fans spit in his face so that sucks I guess Another good thing was this was the last time we heard traditional sounding Eminem hooks and the same goes as he got lazy and stared getting generic women to sing instead after this Otherwise tho someone should have stopped him from releasing a record like this as his comeback album. Very r-----ed on Em's part. It's like he hadn't learned to rap correctly yet and just had to say random s--- that rhymed and tell stories that had no real purpose for almost every song. No real content to be had here except for some later tracks Overall 5/10 just a bit above encore since at least it consisted primarily of serious music
Jul 25, 2017 I think 5/10 is probably a bit harsh tbf Has great production, flows & hooks. But quite a lot of nonsensical lyrics in songs like Underground, Medicine Ball etc but then you have songs like Stay Wide Awake where I think he nails the eerie-vibe; great hook, insane rhyme scheme & good story-telling...and then Deja Vu which is one of my favs of all time
Jul 25, 2017 There was probably a good album to be had here with Dre production, Eminem doing classic skits and serious singing hooks It's too bad he wanted to rhyme a lot and talk about smelling the scent of placentas instead of being introspective and talking about being a drug addict and almost dying more
Jul 25, 2017 It's FAR from trash...it's good imo 6.5/10 I just hope he included some tracks from Relapse: Refill on the original album and removed "My Mom" and replace "Bagpipes from Baghdad" with "The Warning". My Darling, Be Careful What You Wish For, Deja Vu, Crack a Bottle, Stay Wide Awake, 3 A.M, Beautiful, Old Time's Sake all of that are listenable tracks imo
Jul 25, 2017 A good album. The problem with his album is a lot of forced rhymes, the terrible accents, meh content, and a lot of weak lines.
Jul 25, 2017 Actually about that hook thing, he started to use generic female hooks in Relapse era. He had it on We Made You. Only one song but still. Agree with u about your points tho. Recovery lacked few important things and one of them was Eminem hooks. As for MMLP 2 it'd have been a lot better if didn't use any guest hooks except The Monster & Headlights.
Jul 25, 2017 I know this is not for this thread but Encore is a 2/10. These serious songs on Encore were done poorly.
Jul 25, 2017 as said by himself "Let's be honest, that last "Relapse" CD was ehhh Perhaps I ran them accents into the ground Relax, I ain't going back to that now"
Jul 25, 2017 It's ehh compared to his first three albums. But he didn't have to trash it just like that.
Jul 25, 2017 He used female hooks in If I Had and Stan too I don't think We Made You really counts with what you're saying
