May 14, 2018 So I got a cough a week or two ago. A lot of people around me have been dealing with them. Eventually it spread to my ear, so now I've got a middle ear infection trapping fluid behind my ear drum. It's pretty terrible. My hearing is muffled. I have to constantly blow air with my mouth/nose closed to equalize the pressure or my ear drum stretches. Quite painful. I'm on some antibiotics and am constantly supplementing them with benadryl/ibuprofen/mucinex, but beyond some surgery, this is just a waiting game. tl;dr me irl
May 14, 2018 Sux, I remember on a trip to California I had a cold and the sonic/air pressure f----- me up and I had a brief encounter with this symptom. Certainly not fun stuff, no greater relief when you finally can hear
May 14, 2018 Unless my hearing is permanently damaged. In which case I might take a toaster bath A pun at my expense? I'll allow it
May 14, 2018 After a flight once one of my ears didn't pop back for whatever reason for like a week - I never realized how much of a difference being deaf in one ear makes. Severely underestimated it. One of the most annoying scenarios I've ever been in.
May 15, 2018 you think thats bad I had a bad ear infection when I was little and permanently loss hearing in both ears
May 15, 2018 It happens, you'll be fine shouldn't be any long term damage I have odd ears that don't drain properly and the symptoms you mentioned are similar to what happens to me sometimes
May 15, 2018 yeah it will pass ive had this a few times usally it happens when u in the bath or swimming pool if u pull your ear lobe and turn your head to the side you can release it otherwise give few days and it will dry up and evaporate
May 15, 2018 If you don't recover, I can send you all my broken earphones where only one side is working.
May 15, 2018 Update: I woke up with liquid in my ear and am pretty sure my ear drum ruptured in my sleep. I've got an appointment to see my main doctor at 4pm now. I'm scared fam.
May 16, 2018 One day my ear started to hurt like s---, minutes after i lost my right earing. It came back after some time . Hope your comes back too .
May 16, 2018 The pain got a lot worse to the point I was pacing my house trying to endure it. Went to the ER. Diagnosed with swimmer's ear, the quick clinic hadn't, but my ear canal was so swollen they couldn't see my ear drum... which I still think is ruptured. They shoved a little spongy tube into the closed canal to help the drops they prescribed reach the inner ear. It hurt like a MFer. Doc also prescribed me some hydrocodone so I've been popping those, they're weak af, and coping with cotton mouth while pissing every twenty minutes from chugging water. Barely got any sleep. I think some pressure escaped. Just nursing it with a hot water bottle, applying the drops, taking antibiotics, and popping hydros atm. I have TMJ and my jaw is hurting from the swelling around my ear. Hurts to chew/swallow. Might visit another doctor if I run out of pills before it stops hurting so intensely. Might also pluck out the tube with some tweezers because I suspect it would feel amazing. I'm in h--- fam. Really hope I don't suffer long term hearing loss. Might just be me worrying though. Doc didn't seem half as concerned. This s--- has been unreal though.
May 16, 2018 You probably did rupture your ear, the same s--- happened to me when I ruptured my ear drum, hope you get better breh
