So his big political stance is... uh... being nice to conservatives. What a shallow turd.

He does hint at liking Trump because he's in love with celebrity and it makes him feel capable of conquering a similar space. At least that's revealing. I just don't see how the guy who said Bush doesn't care about black people thinks Trump is different on a material level. He absolutely gutted the department of housing installing Ben Carson's dumb a---. Like it's a worthy cause to don the rhetoric of a reactionary, something as trivial as Make America Great Again, when you have to work so hard to redefine what it stands for... besides.. ya know... a dog whistle to anybody who is white and petite bourgeois.

Kanye is irredeemable. The coopting of anti-establishment lingo on Yeezus only gets funnier with time.

I just think he has an affinity for pop culture icons and Trump is at this point one of the biggest of all time. he sees similar qualities in trump like being unapologetic, albeit ignorant, and running a successful business. he isn't really looking at the politics. he envies what trump has been able to do and genuinely believes he could do the same.

I love how he characterizes being civil with conservatives as being a radical movement and not a concession every centrist in the country has been doing for 30 years while decisively losing ground politically. This dude is gonna brainwash so many impressionable kids. I'd rather they listen to Keef and chug lean.

It kind of is a radical movement. Look at twitter or the media flip s--- whenever someone comes out as a conservative unexpectedly. Youll get more backlash in 2018 for supporting conservative viewpoints than you ever would before, by a large margin. Its tribalism.

i don’t really mind the content because it’s so
unsurprising, if awfully superficial. i do mind that in general, it’s a mediocre song. i’m hoping given how current the subject matter is that it’s his response to The Storm and it won’t be on the album. the beat on Lift Yourself was fire though, hoping that gets used for something other than a shitpost

The democrats ruled the branches of government for 50 some years until Reagan came along. It's not controversial when 50 percent of the population is on your side, and the dividing issues between the party establishments have shrunk to abortion and guns with agreement on everything ranging from imperialism to economics. It's lip service outrage. It's not a fundamental difference in worldview.

The idea that "crossing the isle" is the new punk rock ignores the bipartisan collusion of the past 30 years where Reagan, Bush Sr, Clinton, Bush Jr, Obama, and Trump have been absolutely lockstep on the vast majority of issues.
