Kendrick Lamar Kendrick's TPAB overtakes Kanye's MBDTF as the highest rated album of the 2010s on Rate Your Music

    My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and To p---- A Butterfly. Two classics. Two Masterpieces. Two excellent works of art. Two albums that will go on to define the 2010 decade when it draws to a close in two years time. Surely these two albums will go on to be some of the best in music history – 808sandblues

    This time last year My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy held on the top spot for a consecutive seven years running and it seemed that it would hold on to that top spot until at least the 2010 decade was over. However, its run has now come to an end.

    That’s right, Kendrick Lamar’s To p---- a Butterfly has now overtaken Kanye West’s Masterpiece My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy on Rate Your Music, a website database (the biggest on the net) in which dedicated music fans go on to rate album releases on. It ends Kanye’s seven year reign at the top of the charts where he held on to it from 2010. Kendrick Lamar now holds the top three spots on the chart with his 2012 effort Good Kid MAAD City. It may come as disappointing news to Kanye West as he only needed to hold on to the spot for two years to hold the title as having the best album of the decade.

    Cheer up Mr West! Two years still remain to reclaim that top spot!

    Is there any chance of MBDTF reclaiming the top spot? Its unlikely as TPAB now has a score 4.05/5.00 with over 13,000 ratings while MBDTF has of 3.95 with over 16,000 ratings. The Compton born rapper not only holds the top spot on the overall charts but also the 2010 decade hip-hop charts.

    Even if you didn't like the story, the songs themselves bump af I don't understand people who say there's no replay value I could listen to that s--- today and still be dancing one minute and crying the next foh flip flops

    wrong. good storytelling, but the songs do not "bump" as you claim. MBDTF lightyears better

    Institutionalized is hard, For sale kinda corny you got that, momma is one of the best songs on the album tf, hood politics is good, complexion is good, album version of I is mehh and mortal man is dope imo but I can see why you would dislike it because its not really music you can jam to but come on the hate circlejerk worst than the Kendrick GOAT circle jerk is.

    he made a album with terrible replay value, it's simple but the only reason it broke the record is bc of the message not the music. Critics can't hate on the actual message of the tape even tho the music is p meh

    The music itself is amazing, stop trying to find loopholes and excuses as to why this album is the best rated album. If you don't like it thats fine but I don't see anyone releasing better music than Kendrick and Kanye rn
