Dec 18, 2017 I know these threads are annoying, but seriously give this version of Revival a listen, it flows perfectly: 1. Walk on Water 2. Believe 3. Chloraseptic 4. Untouchable 5. Heat 6. Offended 7. Revival (Interlude) 8. Like Home 9. In Your Head 10. Castle 11. Arose That's a short 9/10... Maybe - classic, to me. Tracks 1 to 4 already flow perfectly, no alteration needed. "River" is the first hiccup then things get really messy until the perfect flow of the final 3 songs as everybody has noted. The "Revival Interlude" was actually a brilliant way to segway into "Like Home" and introduce a new section of the album. Makes it feel somewhat theatrical. But it was used terribly. Because it beautifully introduced "Like Home" but then the album dragged on, and on, and the placement was f---ing abysmal - going from spacey pop rock to southern silly rock rap and back again. What the f--- is in Rubin's head with this placement?? It's so bad. The above placement works. "Heat" flows nicely after "Untouchable" with its vibe somewhat referencing the feel of the first half of "Untouchable" and Em's tone being similar, "Offended" follows fine from that... then his supersonic outro is like the apex of his rappity'ness section of the album... then comes the interlude segway - perfectly setting-up the point of the cover and theme with "Like Home" and also now into the 'emotional' part of the album and then the album powerful trails off as it does. Seriously, there was a great album here even without any additional songs. Overstuffed. Compromised. Mess.
Dec 18, 2017 Wow is dog s--- mate no offence. I know a lot like it, but its crap. Rest I would tend to agree with.
Dec 18, 2017 I feel it's a great opener though. To set up "Believe" and it only makes sense - as an opener, and the piano and violin, and Em's tone on both songs work together great. But I agree I don't love it as a song, but I'm happy with it as an intro to a 'proper' album for once.
Dec 18, 2017 Offended is dope as f---. Bad Husband is okay, I could live with it, maybe after Like Home. But sick of that format.
Dec 18, 2017 Because it doesn't belong anywhere near the other songs fam. It's Relapse. I love the song by itself, but it does not fit AT ALL with anything else. It's a pure anomaly.
Dec 18, 2017 Both of those songs ruin the album. Drag it down with that d--- format we've been hearing for 7 years, it sounds like 1 giant repetition.
Dec 18, 2017 Well you do have a point here EminemBase. However, the difference between Encore and Revival is that Encore's filler songs were kinda terrible. Whereas Revival's filler songs aren't really bad, they are just a mixed bag. I feel Encore would have been a classic if not for the fillers too. But at least Revival's fillers are still sorta fun songs. Overall, the album is solid. And what keeps it from being a true classic is the lack of cohesiveness, which you always advocate. Also, I would add Framed and Bad Husband to the album and possible a couple of skits. Throw in the rest on a bonus disc or deluxe edition. Wouldn't a SUPER short album.
Dec 18, 2017 Framed is the most obscure unfitting song on the album. Good by itself. Absurd on the album. Bad Husband is okay, Heat is fun, Untouchable is one of the best tracks.
Dec 18, 2017 Can you admit they're at least better than the filler songs on Encore like a--- Like That and Puke?
Dec 18, 2017 I been seeing concerning amount of ppl that think nowhere fast is a love song You do know the song is about his rap career right? If yes u know. Pls provide me list of songs he did in the last 7 years that resembles it
Dec 18, 2017 I’d rather have an unfitting song like Framed than have it locked away in the vault never to be heard again.
Dec 18, 2017 And even that isnt the same at all I rly think he thinks its a love song Poor Em i dont know why he bothers
