Dec 16, 2014 For the record, I think drinking and driving is just about the most reckless thing you can do. I know people who have taken lives doing this, and its terrible. That being said I'm guilty of doing it on various occasions, as are most of you I'm sure. Anyways I was at a house party this past Friday and left with a friend. He had a few drinks early in the night, but we didn't really think anything of it until we saw flashing lights in the distance and police pulling everyone over. When he pulled his car to the side, the officer asked if he had drank at all, he replied no, and he was then asked for his paperwork. He couldn't find it, but luckily the cop was nice enough to let him go given that he didn't appear to be intoxicated. It had me thinking though, flashing lights in the distance after you've had a few drinks is probably just about the scariest thing you can see. So I'm wondering if anyone has been through it (or knows anyone whose been through it) and what that experience was like.
Dec 16, 2014 We don't have that fascist s--- here in Alaska. I happened to be sober when I drove through them in other states.
Dec 16, 2014 Canada have a zero tolerance law? Half of my friends had blow and goes freshman year. I'd rather ride the drunk bus or be a designated driver than spend a night in jail. Not worth it.
Dec 16, 2014 Nah but they reduced the legal limit here not too long ago. And yeah, a night in jail is the least of my worries if I get a record lol. What's a blow and go, I'm not familiar?
Dec 16, 2014 Im not very proud of it, but I used to drive under the influence semi-frequently...we don't have checkstops, but I ended up getting pulled over on a night where I actually had thought I monitored my intake and that I was below the limit (.08)...turns out I was just over, with a .09. They got me. Was an expensive lesson to learn, but it could have been far worse when I look back at other instances...and I definitely learned my lesson, so it was for the best that I got caught, tbh.
Dec 16, 2014 A breathalyzer installed in your car. Can't start it without blowing under. It's in there for more than six months IIRC while you also have to attend a group session and pay a fine.
Dec 16, 2014 Went through one while rolling and we had fire works bottles and pills in the car. I was driving and I had just started to drive so I had no idea what to do when we pulled up to the checkpoint. Pretty d--- scary cuz it was my first time rolling on e and after my first rave with my girl at the time. I just kept my cool and when the officer asked me to get out of my car I did and just talked to him nicely. Breathalyzied me (I passed) and went on my way. We got lucky. When I get scared I get a raging boner and since i was rolling I was really diggin the officers vibe.
Dec 18, 2014 Luckily I've never had any issues with this but I agree it would pretty much be the scariest thing possible lol. It's been a long time since I've driven after drinking though and most of these times I wasn't drunk and still would have been under the legal limit. Did have a similar situation with weed though. I had just smoked and had weed in the car and I saw some flashing lights ahead, there was some sort of accident so the cops had part of the road blocked off and were waving people through. The car in front of me pulled to the side and stopped after the cop waved him through, I had no idea if I was technically supposed to stop or not but there was no way I was going to. I just made sure my windows were rolled up and slowly went through there without making eye contact, and then just kept driving paranoid that he'd come after me for not stopping lol.
Dec 18, 2014 ive been a situation where ive had weed in the car and have been stopped at a roadblock. luckily they never said anything about so we got off scotch free. my heart dropped when i saw those lights though haha
Dec 18, 2014 I don't drink, but on my first-ever check stop I had a bowl in the glove box and a baggy of weed by my foot.
Dec 19, 2014 last year I was driving around without a license (suspended) and came across a road check..so before I got too close, I pulled into a subway parking lot..ate inside, waited for an hr or so..and it was clear. Most of the time now, I just get friends to drive me where I want to go.
Dec 19, 2014 driving kinda f----- up is safer and more fun than driving tired. J'sayin is anyone picking up what im laying down here?
Dec 19, 2014 In my experience, yeah depending on how f----- you are. Driving with a light buzz > driving while fighting to stay awake.
Dec 19, 2014 anywhere around .15 to slightly buzzed is a lot safer for me than driving tired or on no sleep. its stupid now that im an adult, so i cab it whenever im boozin. anyways.. i have never been the driver in a situation like that yet luckily, but ive been in the car with my buddy who was hands down the best Designated drunk driver i know. dude rolled a stop sign. we were beyond f----- up and the cop didnt notice or smell anything.
