Pitchfork is the worst

    Honest to God, they give both Get Rich or Die Tryin' and The Massacre a 7/10, there's no way those albums are equal. If Massacre is a 7 then Get Rich is a 10 (which it is), or if Get Rich is a 7 then Massacre is only a 5

    Recovery 2.8
    MMLP 4.8
    Shady XV 2

    But then they give Magna Carta Holy Grail a 5.8, there's no way that bull s--- album is better than those 3 I listed above.




    And they don't even have reviews for artists like Lloyd Banks... wtf. Who runs that :trash:?

    The Massacre 8.75
    Recovery 8
    MMLP 2 8.5
    Shady XV 5
    MCHG 5

    Although I sometimes find their reviews on point, it's no secret they are agenda-driven for better or worse. In retrospect anyone who gave a poor score to GRODT is utterly wrong as it became an essential album over the last couple years.

    mchg is certainly as average as it gets but it's comfortably better than shady xv

    yeah the more I think about it MCHG is definitely better than XV but I still think their reviews are s---

    They aren't a single uniform entity. You should hold individual writers accountable.
    That said, their following is the worst thing about them.

    @CharlieWork is echoing what i've been saying for years--acting like any site is one entity is incredibly dumb, especially when there's crossover between outlets. but the bigger joke here is people getting this upset about numerical scores. like, are you f---ing kidding? how about you read?

    Considering they are known to delete older reviews when they upset the hipster class already shows how pandering they are as an organization. Not to mention their reviews scarcely talk about the album itself.

    Tbh I don't take the time to memorize who, and I understand that it's a bit silly to lump everyone together, it's just that quite nearly all reviews I've read, barring maybe Yeezus and Shady XV, I've disagreed with. No knock on the writers, I just apparently have different taste

    Edit: and that goes for rap reviews. I find myself liking a lot of the rock acts that get rated higher

    fair, i just think pitchfork has value because they're seemingly the only publication of a certain size that has the gall to run a negative review. and they pay on time.

    The writing should reflect the score, why should i read anyones delusional reasoning into giving mmlp 4/10?
