Maybe. A slew of great unreleased material would definitely be released, further cementing his legacy at the time. h---, even if he died of his overdose whenever it was (07/08?) I still think his legacy would be huge. 1 bad album because of a drug addiction would be excused.

I would say so, Eminem is One of the greatest Hip-Hop artists of all time, regardless of decline. If there was a Hip-Hop Mount Rushmore, Em would be on it.

If Eminem died in 2003 then he prob wouldn't have had enough of a legacy for Interscope to create a fake Eminem wannabe like they did in 2007.

That being said, we would prob have got at least a couple of unreleased albums mastered into full releases.

I would think so.. there's artists like Jay, Nas, & Pac that have put out subpar material, and they definitely have a spot on it, imo.

    Pac
    Biggie
    Jay
    Nas
    Em

    The Mt. Rushmore of Hip-Hop

i dont think it would matter that much. Eminem will always be Eminem. Actually, i think his legacy is stronger than than it would have been if he died 2003. I mean he has already done like 300+ released songs. nobody expects him of them to be great or classics. he has like 30-40 songs that are basically masterpieces. although he isn't producing his best things nowadays he does a lot of good to very good songs. i think his persona and legacy is much more diverse now in comparison to 2003. also him battling addiction and coming back at the top of the rap game(regardless that its s-----y nowadays) made his image that much stronger. his fanbase must have grown so much during the recocery era to a point that a lot of yonger people took interest in him and looked at his earlier work as well.

And even though the fans of his earlier work think he started ruining his catalog (I partly agree with that), he did also gain new fans with Recovery -esp. the singles-

I've said this a bunch of times before on S80 and SL. If Em died after 8 Mile, we would all deify him as one of the greatest ever. His earlier stuff would still age poorly, but we would all be talking about how much potential he had and what amazing things he would have gone on to do.

Kinda like we do with Pac, Biggie, and everyone else who WAS great, and died before their time.

When he will stop to rap, he will be considered as one of the greatest, maybe the goat. And if he died in 2003 i think it would be pretty much the same, what he has done for Hip Hop with his first 3 albums is something nobody will be able to recreate

Also, there would be conspiracy theorists arguing that he was assassinated because the industry wouldn't let a white rapper be the biggest rapper in the world.

His new fans that came after the Recovery singles are mostly bunch of girls or guys that aren't really true hip hop heads tho.

also, i forgot to add that s----s not mathematics. if you make FACK and RAW, Lose yourself and Stan dont just disappear. its not like we are substracting and adding to his legendary status. he did a lot of phenomenal(no pun intended) things that maybe no other rap or whatever artist will be able to replicate or come close to. he will always be top5 no matter what

if he died in 03, then there would not be a single blemish on his track record.. he would have went out on top with lose your self and 8 mile being his last singles. i think his legacy would be bigger then pac and biggie, i mean he didn't die and the 2 albums prior to 03 are diamond.. he would have set a unreachable mark for any other artist in any genre to beat and probably refereed to as the best that ever did it. even tho he is still seen that way now, it would be with out question since every questionable song or move he made was after 03.. he would definitely be Elvis or even Lennon.

anyone ever read the Eminem clone theory? some of it is plausible.. but the clone part is too much of a reach.. but how hard would it be to find a guy with a similar look and voice to mimic him and read the thousands of lyrics he has written down already. i don't think it would be to hard since there is a million Eminem imposters and imitators.. a little plastic surgery and since everyone has accepted his voice has changed and justify it for one reason or another i really would not be that surprised if he did die, would they tell you anyways.. with the amount of money labels and companies invested in him and his brand.. at that point he was worth more alive.. but now with his decline in sales he may become a target for companies to make billions off his death like Michael Jackson.

Haley's Song would probably make ppl cry thinking about how Haley lost her dad. Aw.

She'd also likely be seeking the attention of much older men today.
