Jun 26, 2017 Was listening to Loyal to the Game album and was wondering why Eminem stopped producing. Last production credit I seen was on Skylar Greys album. He had many dope beats on Obie Trice album,D12, as well as Eminem Show. Moment of Clarity was vicious! I noticed also that many of the beats he produced were co produced by Luis Resto or Mike Elizondo. They were dope too! I would love to hear Yelawolf or Conway on a sick Eminem beat. My question is why did it all stop? Dre stopped too but I understand he's a business man and billionaire now
Jun 26, 2017 He didn't. He produced Right for Me, Vegas, All I Think About, and I'm pretty sure he produced k--- for You as well. All recent songs (for Em's standards at least)
Jun 26, 2017 idk what you mean. he produced a handful on MMLP2, had a beat or two on Yelawolf's album, had a beat or two on Skylar's album, had a handful of his own beats on ShadyXV as well.
Jun 26, 2017 He just cut way back. He's said a few times he can focus on rapping more if he isn't worried about making beats.
Jun 27, 2017 I love how you say he stopped but give an example of a song less than a year old that he produced
Jun 27, 2017 though most em beats arent just produced by eminem luis resto mark batson re involved too
Jun 27, 2017 He really only stepped back on Relapse, to focus on his rapping, as he had been gone and fallen off so much skills-wise that he just wanted to focus on that. On Recovery he didn't produce full beats but hand his hands on many... Then on MMLP2 he produced quite a bit. Some of the best beats on the album. Dope production on Shady XV too @ Vegas in particular... Which is kind of a new sound for Em. The distortion and just the vibe of it - also dope beat @ All I Think About on Southpaw Soundtrack. In fact, given his level of production on MMLP2, then the fact he produced pretty much everything on Shady XV and his s--- on Southpaw Soundtrack - I have assumed for a while that he's probably producing this whole next album. I think that's part of the reason for the time too, if I had to guess - I'd say he's been working with Porter, Batson, Bass Bros... a few close to him but overseeing and coming up with a new sound. At least I hope. Because another batch of random a--- beats won't do. He needs to reinvent his sound, not just his rapping.
Jun 27, 2017 I feel ya though. I wish he was more into producing like he used to be. I love his dark ominous beats from back in the day!
Jun 29, 2017 his production kept getting better and reached a peak in 2006 and went downhill after that
Jun 29, 2017 "‘cause makin' the beat , Ain’t the same feelin' to me as killin' the beat is, Or fulfillin' to me is what fillin' a seat is"
