Feb 9, 2020 Going through all of Eminem's latter projects post 99-03, there are a lot of holes and inconsistencies which surround some of these albums but as much as they are inconsistencies, they are still intended to be successful albums, some of them just fall flat due to not ticking certain boxes that we expect Eminem to tick... As much as some of these being amongst fans's worst projects, I feel there is one album that has no redemption whatsoever and that is Encore... The reason why is because Encore is the most laziest unmotivated album I've ever heard from Eminem, yea sure some of his other albums miss the target by a mile but at least they don't carry the level of level of laziness and the purposeful lack of motivation. Even though I don't enjoy some of his recent stuff, I still gotta give him props for making the effort and carrying some degree of motivation. This is why Encore will always be my worst Album, just pretty much shows where Eminem was at that time.
Feb 9, 2020 Utter garbage!! The ONLY reason Encore gets so much hate is because it’s always judged against his previous album TES! Mosh is sooo underrated, has amazing Em flow and verses. Toy Soldiers is a classic, and Em at his very best when he is story telling. Just Lose It gets so much hate just because he destroyed MJ on it. To this date it’s still one of Em’s most hilarious music videos. The verses on Just Lose It are awesome. Mockingbird is again another underrated Em classic. Never Enough is another great track with an awesome hook by Nate Dogg. Em on his previous 3 albums was Em serious as f---. On Encore he was just having fun and was clearly trying a new direction. I would definitely put Encore ahead of Relapse as Relapse is his most over rated album of all time with zero decent tracks on it. His epic cringe voice on We Made You is still easily his worst ever track he put out!
Feb 9, 2020 You are entitled to your opinion but there is no need to get emotional over it (unless your getting paid royalties on Encore) Just Lose It was one of the most terrible lazy Eminem songs I've ever heard, it's not fun at all, it's terrible. Standout lyrics from just lose it - "Chubba-chubba-chubba-chubba-chubba-chubba-chubby"
Feb 9, 2020 Relapse,MMLP 2,MTBMB,Kamikaze,Revival are all worse. Encore has some real lows but its highs way better than many of his other albums
Feb 9, 2020 That's a fair point, I rather have opinions like this rather than the Stanley who replied at the top
Feb 9, 2020 Ι agree with that tbh. I the type of guy that I like to listen to albums as whole without skips, I do that for every artist, not just em and I almost never find myself skipping a track. With that said, Encore is definitely the worst experience in Em's catalog for me. Yes there are great moments in it but there are also so many moments that I cant wait to end just to find another track I will enjoy like when you get from puke to spend some time. Overall as an album its his worst no doubt at all.
Feb 9, 2020 Idk man... revival is pretty bad. But for Encore I would say it's his second worst. Even though there’s some classic songs, overall as a complete album it’s not good as Bojack suggested. edit - grammar
Feb 9, 2020 Its a common misconception that this album is bad. I used to hold this opinion, but I have seen the light. Encore is only still considered bad due to unquestioned inertia from 2004. Evil deeds, never enough, spend some time, yellow brick road, encore are some of prime em stuff. Rain man is one of the most enjoyable funny eminem songs. Hes so relaxed and confident on it, just taking it easy. So is Puke. My first single is lyrically good, its the beat that kills it. The only really bad songs are big weenie, a--- like that, just lose it and one shot two shot. Other than that, its classic eminem. Wake up.
Feb 9, 2020 really tired of that Encore bashing... It's completely absurd to me how somebody could put Recovery-esque radio pop garbage above classic Dre hip hop production, Nate Dogg hooks, 50 cent features and TES sound...
Feb 9, 2020 obviously not a good album, lyrics were garbage or lazy (even on the best songs) but his flow/delivery were still very good. overrall, the album is better than anything from recovery to mtbmb tbh I'd rather have bored, lazy, drugged Eminem over poppish, trying-too-hard and flowing-like-s----or-screaming Eminem. even "a--- like that" is more of an actual song than most of his recent attempts where the hook, the verses and the beat sound like they come from three different planets
Feb 9, 2020 I don’t particularly “hate” any Eminem album, I derive some sort of enjoyment from all of his projects, but I can objectively say Revival was his career low. The highs on Encore were astronomically higher and I guarantee you there are millions of more people who look back on Encore fondly than there are for Revival.
Feb 9, 2020 Encore will always be the worst Em album to me. If you rocked with Em since SSLP or MMLP, there is no way you'd think otherwise. Listening to Encore after the classics (sslp, mmlp, tes, 8 mile, devil's night) and amidst the frenzy surrounding Eminem at the time, it was the most disappointing experience in my life. Going track by track, I couldn't believe this was a true Eminem album. The quality was immeasurably lower than anything he'd put out. There's nothing that can erase that memory so Encore will always be last in my ranking, no matter what he puts out in the future
Feb 9, 2020 LMFAO you clearly know nothing about rap! You say you want the old drugged Eminem?Em is 47 years old with a 20 plus year old daughter. Em grew up, suggest you do the same. You bash Recovery, yet it sold 16 million worldwide, had back to back diamond selling singles with LTWYL and Not Afraid and was number 1 for 10 weeks. Em did an experiment with Recovery and using Rihanna and it worked amazingly well. Numbers don’t lie, just people like you do.Lol
Feb 9, 2020 Thanks for proving you also know nothing about music. REAL fans knew it would have been impossible for Em to carry on the same after his first 3 classics. His first 3 albums were Em at his peak, s--- the same even happened to MJ, his first 3 solo albums were all time classics, then with his 4th release Dangerous it was so disappointing because it was no where near the level of Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad.
Feb 9, 2020 So you're telling me McDonalds is the best food in the world because of how much it sells? What about Chainsmokers? They must be the best music has to offer, by your logic.
Feb 9, 2020 Even though I disagree with Zeugma, at least he is actually giving his opinion without getting emotional. You need help bro, your emotions over Eminem are beyond the depths of Stanley's basement.
Feb 9, 2020 Wtf does that even mean? What do you "know about music"??? Possible to carry on or not, Encore is his weakest album to me. Period. That I know for sure.
