Feb 7, 2017 Joe Budden Says New Slaughterhouse Album Is Never Coming Out by Ted Simmons February 7, 2017 9:54 AM Share Article on Facebook Share Article on Twitter Aa Brian Ach, Getty Images Slaughterhouse, the supergroup comprised of Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I and Royce Da 5’9″, last released an album in 2012 with Welcome to: Our House, featuring singles “My Life” and “Throw That.” Fans anticipating the follow-up from the group, which was supposed to be executive-produced by Just Blaze, are in for a disappointment, as Budden said on his podcast recently that the new Slaughterhouse album won’t ever be released. Budden mentions the album around the 58-minute mark below, calling it the new Detox, “cause that album’s never seeing the light of day. Breaking news,” Budden says. “For all of you people who keep wanting a music update, here it is: that Slaughterhouse project, you’re not getting it. Sorry. It’s some s--- on there. Unfortunately, the best Joell verse that I have ever heard in my entire life is on this album that y’all are never gonna hear. That’s f----- up.” While Budden doesn’t mention any label issues, he does say that he wanted to take a few of the album cuts for his own projects. However, the sound and tone of the records already date them, according to Budden. “The entire group was in such a dark space when we recorded all of that music. It’s a very dark, depressing…I don’t even want to hear any of that s---. I don’t even rap like that, I don’t want to rap like that. We would have to record all new verses to put that album out. Feb 7, 2017 Budden and Royce are making better music on their own now anyway. Given that Yelawolf "burned 95% of his business contacts" and we can assume he's off Shady, does the label even exist any more?
Feb 7, 2017 good riddance. these guys were good for a few collab songs, maybe an EP back in 09 when they were buzzing, nothing more. their album on Shady was one of the worst projects of the decade.
Feb 7, 2017 Interscope Records doesn't give a s--- about lyricists anyway, their last tape was good though. their Shady debut was trash.
Feb 7, 2017 Their album that's not on shady is f---in dope. But ever since they signed they have gone way downhill.
Feb 7, 2017 Anyone who signs to aftermath or shady should know their album will never see the light of day. Even if they get one released having two albums is nearly impossible. If any artist hears these labels want to sign them they should immediately turn it into a bidding war and go with a credible label.
Feb 8, 2017 Guess im thee odd man out that was looking forward to that album. From the snippets or whatever leaked sounded great. And just blaze behind it deffinetly had me hyped.
