    also, i'd rather this not be like most threads where everyone wants to have a pissing contest but rather some civil discourse. we have all became way too divided as it is in the US, so i'd rather not add to the division.

    im not from the US.
    But i find the attachment some have towards their guns really bizarre.

    Think the gun laws should be far stricter. So we see far less mass shootouts from some deranged weirdo's

    you'd be surprised that to know that for a lot of people, the attachment is not actually about the gun itself.

    Don’t know enough about it.

    I’ve seen people I love that are responsible with their guns, and I’ve seen people — who I love too, don’t get me wrong — that are completely emotionally/mentally not stable enough to own a gun that were also able to just walk in a store and walk out with a gun of their own for the most part. I think there’s gotta be a way for it to be harder to obtain, and more easy to track some, while at the same time allowing people that are completely fine and normal to have access to whatever guns they want that are normal for recreational use.

    Though, again, I’m not too familiar with the specifics to give a deeper opinion on the matter. I couldn’t even tell you what an AR-15 is specifically, and wouldn’t even know what it looked like if it weren’t in the headlines every other week in regards to this topic.

    I could buy a Gun on the street when I was 11. It’s not hard to get them and although I think background checks and mental health checks should absolutely be required, I have little faith in that stopping someone who wants to commit murder or the like to be able to do so.

    I’m 100% pro gun. I go to the range all the time with my uncle. We mostly s---t his dad’s 357. It’s fun as h---. I’m not a gun fanatic though. I know little about them and choose not to own one even though I live in Texas where basically everyone has one.

    I fully support requiring background checks for trade show and private gun sales.

    I also think every shell casing should be serialized so if cops find them at a scene, they have a lead on the shooter. They should be able to trace it back to the manufacturer and then ultimately point of sale.

    I support these 2 issues but they’re not something I stress over. I think there are way more important issues to work out. But if there was ever reasonable legislation to implement these correctly then I would support them.

    I am very pro gun. Background checks and mental health evaluations need to be required for all gun purchases. Banning bump stocks was a great move. Law-abiding citizens should absolutely have the right to defend themselves and their family. A close friend of mine likely wouldn’t be alive today if he didn’t use a gun in self-defense.

    Also, f--- the NRA. Philando Castile was killed for legally carrying a firearm, and they were silent. “Protecting gun rights for all Americans!” my a---.

    I have hunting rifles and a .410 snake charmer (for protection in the Alaska wilderness).
