Drake I don't like Drake

    But Scorpion is fire. Both parts. I come on here and see no one likes it... even the Drake stans. The whole album feels like Drake is trying to prove he deserves a place among the greats, making his case for why he deserves respect, and the project as a whole seems to make a great case for it. We get a rap side and a RNB side.. both which I can vibe to, which is rare, especially the RNB stuff.

    Am I missing something? Why is it bad? More Life is bad. Why is Scorpion bad?

    Does it have something to do with his son and Pusha?
    Did that stain his legacy in your eyes for some reason, which then translates into enjoying the project?

    The Drake fanbase confuses me.

    Also the whole son thing does make him look even worse

    I understand how it effects his image.. but music wise, the boring thing I don't understand. All these 10+ year artists have run out of things to say... but it still sounds good. Rather than someone say, like Eminem, that has also run out of things to say, but doesn't sound good anymore.

    I don't like it that much but its okay.
    The whole pusha thing has zero effect on me though

    Is there a correlation between me typically disliking Drake but enjoying his latest project?
    The last Drake project I enjoyed this much was IYRTITL.

    Overall as an artist, I don't like him.

    Is that not allowed, Jakey?

    That is allowed... I just felt like posting that. :)

    I am more of a fan of Drakes older albums. Scorpion was pretty decent... just went for way too long and I feel like given the position he's in in hip-hop, he should be producing better.

    Good thread titles are composed of words whose main purpose is to attract attention and encourage posters to click on it. It's not clickbait unless the thread material inside is considered dubious or suspect. My opinion of Drakes music is neither of those things, but rather me attempting to comprehend my fellow posters opinions on the matter with a cleverly disguised thread. I may create another thread teaching this method of thread creation as it seems these fellow posters of mine are in need of direction. Translation: Lots of s--- threads I'm seeing, Koolo, lots.

    So in comparison to Views and More Life where does Scorpion fall?
    I would say the length of the album... was split into 2 sections (or discs) for a reason.

    Probs better than both... maybe not More Life, I personally really like that one. But NWTS and Take Care are in a league of their own.

    See I thought the issue everyone has with Scorpion (too many tracks/remove tracks and it's good) is what More Life suffers from. More Life has good songs on it but so much filler, while Scorpion has 2 discs, with 12/13 songs.. which is your average album length. I guess people can argue that the 2 disc thing doesn't matter and just compile everything into one playlist but then that defeats the purpose of the project. Everyone wanted to argue that More Life "wasn't an album, it's a playlist" like that was a valid point or something so I think the 2 disc argument stands tall in comparison when talking about the structure of the 2 projects (More Life vs Scorpion).

    This album is being played everywhere. It’s just rare forums like these where people are hating on drake just to hate out of jealousy. Some people thought Pusha dissing drake over 10 month old pregnancy news was destroying him, only for drake to break over a billion streams and Pusha’s name fade back into irrelevance. And in my feelings is number one on the charts right now. When talking a billion streams obviously a huge fanbase he has. If this album released in 2000, we’re talking maybe 3 million first week sales.

    But these are Drake FANS I'm seeing that don't like it. I don't think his own fanbase is going to hate on it because of the reason you stated
