May 19, 2019 Drizzy has been controlling the rap game for d--- near a decade now. But a lot of people argue whatever if Drake deserves legend & GOAT status. IMOO, Drake definitely has GOAT status. What do you all think about Drake's status in the rap game?
May 19, 2019 Yeah imo its getting too far at times lol but this thread is not for that. I was just looking through my Drake songs, dude had so many hits lol, let alone features
May 19, 2019 Exactly bro, Drake has so many killer hooks (Marvin's Room, Money To Blow, Aston Martin Music, She Will, Diced Pineapples, etc.) & features (Poetic Justice, Made Men, Amen, No Shopping, etc.) You can see how many careers Drizzy put on the limelight with Migos, Nipsey, Makonnen for 5 minutes, PND, The Weeknd, Blocboy, Jhene Aiko, maybe even K. Dot.
May 19, 2019 Word. I don't like everything he does but he got hits. She Will is one of my fav hooks oat tbh. Really really wanted a verse from him on it though Also MIA (spanish song) is a song I bump a lot lately, summer classic
May 19, 2019 I don't really like listening to any music which language I understand, and 95% of the Korean music is awful to me so got nothing to say really.
May 19, 2019 Two parts basically. I don't really like music that I can't understand the language that they're speaking in. I never understood the appeal for them. Speaking for the Korean music (which I do understand besides English) most of it is terrible
May 19, 2019 Ah I got ya. I can understand spanish a little but mostly I just like the vibe of it. The summervibe. From may till october its basically 60% of what I listen to lol. Songs like controlla and madiba riddim (to stay on topic ) is the kinda stuff I mean.
May 19, 2019 On another subject IYRTITL probably my favorite Drake project. He's never really dropped a bad project in my eyes, Scorpion was good for most of the part. More Life is a Drizzy classic I don't care what anyone says.
May 19, 2019 Aubrey Graham is one h--- of an actor. Drake is his best role to date. But is he one of the greatest actors of all time? I dont think so. He's just a child entertainer. Thats like comparing De Niro to Ariana Grande. I mean I'm sure more kids know who Ariana Grande is but that doesnt make her a better actor than De Niro
May 19, 2019 I don’t know what it is exactly I dislike about Drake, even though I still enjoy almost everything he’s dropped. it would be pointless to deny he’s made it to GOAT consideration. no ones done what he’s done or been at the top of the game for so long. Honestly only Hov is comparable.
May 19, 2019 I don't think his music is even remotely good enough to be in the GOAT discussion. He's a superstar and he has some hits, but if we were to rank every rapper, Drake wouldn't see the top hundred.
May 19, 2019 Absolutely, no question. I guess one thing that’s missing for Drizzy is a conventionally, widely agreed on classic hip hop album. IYRT comes closest imo. Although I think most Drake fans would say Take Care or NWTS; which at this point I would say have probably passed from borderline to certified given their impact and popularity. Plus how well they’ve aged. Can’t forget So Far Gone either especially if we’re talking about influence
May 19, 2019 Every album he’s been making for the past 12 always goes number one, so yeah he should be considered a potential goat. He’s easily the 2 Pac of this generation. Most rappers fall off over time “cough cough Eminem, Kanye” but Drake always seems to deliver a solid project with multiple hit singles. He has a good mixture of hard rap songs along with radio hits that are still great rap songs. There’s no one on his level currently, and it’s not even debatable. You’ll hear songs of his from years ago still being played at parties, sport stadiums, radio. He’s the whole package and a great MC as well. He never released a bad project.
May 19, 2019 I can agree on Drake not having a widely accept classic album yet. Drake's goat status is impeccable, nobody has reached the success level as he has. Even if you think Drake is subpar at best, there's no denying that Drizzy's a hit making machine, and can spit incredibly well at times, even though he might not have written it. Off topic but I'm gonna say something about his rap "beefs." Since he is the biggest rapper, possibly artists right now, if he ever feels like he's losing a beef, he'll just blackball you from the mainstream. Let's be honest, how many people are listening to Pusha's s--- after Story of Adidon? How many people are still listening to Makonnen? Tyga before Taste? The only major L I can give to Drizzy.
