May 11, 2021 I'd unironically take the first Venom movie over 90% of the MCU movies. It's just a dumb, fun buddy action movie with a less than 2 hour run time...I got exactly what I wanted and expected lol. I love cronenberg so that would have been super dope, I didn't know this was supposed to be rated R originally.

May 11, 2021 Nah but—honestly, truly, I'm not trying to be a contrarian or film snob, but man a large chunk of these MCU movie are excruciatingly boring, formulaic, and obviously oversaturated. Venom was at least something different. It was just a dumb action movie and didn't try to be anything other than that. It didn't have fake deep s--- like this lol:
May 11, 2021 I'm so sad that people either saying it's the best line ever written or it's the most simple s--- ever completely took any power that this scene had away cause this was one of the strongest parts of the show imo

May 11, 2021 Is that Wandavision? I haven't seen the show yet, but most of the Marvel movies don't try to be fake deep imo. Maybe it's just different for me because I love the humor and I am watching Marvel movies since Iron Man 2 in 2010. Those 9 years that follwed after had me hyped more times than I could count but it isn't the same after Endgame. Glad the new movie phase starts soon. Venom was an OK movie but didn't really capture me like that. I barely even remember the plot.
May 11, 2021 Yeah we're probably gonna be in a slower period of the MCU cause they have to set s--- up all over again with a less convincing cast but I have faith in marvel to keep me interested and I'm excited for Loki and I enjoyed falcon and wandavision even if the finales weren't as strong as I'd hoped (the falcon finale was way better than wandavisions though) I'm also kinda surprisingly on board with black widow
May 11, 2021 There is nothing worse than Marvel Movies. Maybe except the new woke Disney movies but it’s all garbage. We are in the midst of an entertainment crisis. Streaming has both singlehandedly ruined music, movies, and TV. Books are the only thing still keeping it real.
