Mar 24, 2018 I assume that Eminem put Beyonce on ''Walk on Water'' to sell. And it's the first song that I've never heard on the radio. Unbelievable how hard if flopped. He also had dozens of other pop artists on the album. But he didn't promote ''River'' soon enough. So now that he knows he's not going to benefit much commercially anymore with these pop artists, what's the point of continuing to work with them? He could have Justin Bieber on his lead single and it still might flop and go unheard. That's where he's at at this point. It's not working anymore. If he actually could sell more records and have more fun without the pop artists, then wouldn't it make sense to just make normal music again? Just make songs like Believe or Framed. Or am I wrong? Are these pop artists working out for him? Is Revival selling?
Mar 24, 2018 If a track has Beyonce and Eminem and still doesnt sell then you know the song is trash. (In this case I mean trash as in doing well for sales since this was such a personal song.) I think he originally expected this to be his best single of all time which also explains why river was released so late. Untouchable was probably released in between so he wouldnt give the impression he is just going to have pop records.
Mar 24, 2018 Why?? Because he needs help writing songs apparently He loves tracks that are gift wrapped for him with a beat and a hook already attached. Lazy.
Mar 24, 2018 Absolutely love Walk on Water & people will grow to appreciate it more over time, but it obviously wasn’t destined for the charts River should’ve charted better than it did but the song isn’t great. Not a fan of it
Mar 24, 2018 "Why...why are expectation so high I'm getting clowned and frowned on While I karate chop the plaintiff" honestly those are classic bars on a classic song.
Mar 24, 2018 I agree. I heard Marshall called Fred Dusrt up and asked for permisson to use the phrase eating worms cause Fred had already used it. Just a fun fact. I personally love the line about hiding naked underneath where a baby sleeps. I know some think it's kind of creepy, not me. I find it really playful on the words.
Mar 24, 2018 As trash as revival was and how much he over did the pop features, Walk on Water is a very underrated song. I definitely appreciate it for what it is and don’t hate it at all. I think he was expecting a huge positive reaction for the song and I see why. He actually gave us a beautiful song with substance that people have been whining about him not doing for a while. I know we’re all use to him being confident whether it’s good or not but he showed us a new side of him for the first time in nearly 20 years and I can appreciate it.
